Film "150 years - Science For A Better Life"

On the occasion of its 150th anniversary, facts and fiction prepared a film for Bayer depicting the past, present, and future importance of the company.

150 years on and still going strong: from the past up to the present Bayer has been helping to make life for easier for millions of people.

On the occasion of its 150th anniversary, Bayer was seeking to prepare an overall communication package, including a film, to depict the past, present, and future importance of the enterprise: the perfect job for our film specialists at facts and fiction. "Science For A Better Life“ represents a promise to society, which can only be upheld with the help of excellent research, innovative products, and intelligent business management.

In “Bayer 150 Years – Science For A Better Life“ we put a face to this promise. Or rather not just one, but several faces! In the film, people from all walks of life talk about how Bayer’s products have made a real difference in their lives. Researchers and other employees show the dedication with which they work towards addressing the grand challenges of the future and the steps taken through their commitment to improve the quality of life. All these people give life to Bayer’s claim.

The second part of the film takes a look back at the major milestones in Bayer’s history. Groundbreaking inventions and products are shown along a timeline spanning the early days of the company to the present day and beyond with a projection into the future.

As was fitting for the significance of the company and the festive occasion, we took the premiere of “Bayer 150 Years – Science For A Better Life“ to the big stage – literally. At the annual general meeting at Cologne, 5,000 guests including shareholders, politicians and media representatives viewed the film on a 65 x 8 metre big screen. For all the technology experts out there, the resolution was 8,500 x 1,080 pixels with 50 fps with projection by five high-performance HD beamers in soft edge panorama. It goes without saying that the film was made to reach a wider audience beyond those attending the anniversary celebrations. It can be viewed on the Bayer website and is used at numerous events all over the world.
